If you carry insurance not listed here, I am happy to provide you with a superbill at the end of each month. A superbill is a receipt you submit directly to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary by plan.
Paying Out of Pocket
Some clients choose to pay out of pocket rather than use insurance. There are a few reasons people make this choice.
Using insurance requires a mental health diagnosis to be placed in your medical record. That record is shared with your insurer and is part of your permanent health history. Paying privately keeps your care completely confidential.
Paying privately also means there are no session limits, no required treatment plans submitted to insurers, and no external involvement in your care.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, HSA, and FSA cards.
Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before beginning services. This document outlines the expected cost of your care.
For therapy services, the total cost depends on how many sessions you attend and over what period of time. That varies from person to person. What I can tell you upfront is the per-session fee and any other costs that apply to your care.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing before your first session, or any time you request one. If your final bill is at least $400 more than the estimate you received, you have the right to dispute the charge.
For questions about your rights or to request an estimate, contact me directly at info@thebelongingpractice.com or (630) 895-8392.
